fre:ac is a program that has been designed to extract audio from a CD. Previously known as BonkEnc, it is also a useful format converter, that will allow you to pass your songs from one format to another in a very simple way. What's more, you will also have the possibility to recode an audio file using the same format.

  To extract the audio from a CD, you will only have to select the output format of the resulting files, and the bitrate that you want them to have. In what regards to the codec used by fre:ac, you will have the possibility to choose it or just to leave the one that is set per default. Once you have selected the format, in a few seconds you will have the files stored in your folder.

  fre:ac also allows the possibility to search for information about the CD by means of an online database, with which it will have the possibility to tag the songs.
